Aquila Standard Gets Fired Up For United Way’s Day of Caring

Our Aquila Standard volunteer team of 12 nailed it (literally) last week at United Way's National Day of Caring. They worked at Lake Union Village, a tiny house village for people experiencing homelessness. They painted, furnished, worked on carpentry and flooring, landscaped, cleaned, and beautified.

In King County alone, so much was achieved on Day of Caring:

  • 10,500 volunteers gave of their time and energy
  • 370 projects were completed at 225 nonprofits
  • The volunteers’ work was worth more than $1 million!

"It’s a way for volunteers to create lasting change and provide immediate support to meet community needs. We helped with a tiny home project - the 10th tiny home community to be built in the Seattle Area to help with homelessness," says Bianca, Aquila Standard team leader.
