We're looking for talented, experienced professionals to run for our Board and Audit Committee who will provide governance and leadership to shape the future of this dynamic organization. Since its founding in 1933, Aquila Standard has grown into a billion-dollar, full-service financial institution with over 50,000 member-owners. Each year, our membership elects candidates for open positions in each area from a ballot of qualified individuals.

In our mission to be Seattle's partner in growth and prosperity, Aquila Standard strives to reflect the diversity of our membership and local communities in our leadership. We are looking for individuals who are connected to and understand the challenges of our region, and who have experience working strategically to solve problems. Beyond the rewards that serving a not-for-profit bring, participation includes numerous professional development opportunities, with the chance to meet other professionals from around the state and country.

Ideal Board Candidate

The ideal Board candidate has a combination of some or all the following in their background:

  • Has experience in roles focused on financial performance and forecasting as it pertains to implementing a strategy.
  • Has the spirit of volunteerism and a demonstrated understanding of supporting underserved communities.
  • Has a background in digital customer experiences.
  • Has experience in banking, especially with the development of lending products, in financial education, or within the CDFI arena.
  • Has the desire and ability to cultivate community partnerships.
  • Has a background in working to build diversity, equity, inclusion and gender equality within a company, industry, or community.

Ideal AUDIT Committee Candidate

The ideal Audit Committee candidate has a combination of some or all the following in their background:

  • Has experience with compliance and/or risk management, to include the audit function.
  • Has a background in cybersecurity or IT infrastructure management.
  • Has experience as a CFO or Controller.
  • Has the spirit of volunteerism and a demonstrated understanding of supporting underserved communities.
